Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) is a program designed to help rural and northern communities in Canada attract and retain skilled foreign workers to help fill labour shortages and contribute to the local economy.

Under the RNIP, designated communities can recommend foreign workers for permanent residency in Canada. To be eligible for the program, candidates must first have a job offer from an employer in one of the designated communities. They must also meet the program’s eligibility criteria, which includes language proficiency, education, and work experience requirements.

Once a candidate has been recommended by a designated community, they will apply for permanent residency through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Candidates who are recommended through the RNIP have access to a dedicated immigration stream, which can help streamline the application process and expedite the processing time.

The RNIP is a great option for foreign workers who are interested in living and working in rural or northern Canada. It also provides an opportunity for rural and northern communities to attract the talent they need to thrive and grow. If you’re interested in applying for the RNIP, we can help.
